Memorial Day Parade

On Memorial Day, May 28th 2007, Waterford Village Bank participated in the Williamsville Memorial Day Parade. The purpose of participating in the parade was to become an active and supportive presence in our community. We also honored a decorated WWII and Korean War Veteran, Chester Ellis, a Waterford Village Board Member who rode in a decorated convertible through the parade. Behind his VIP car was a decorated trolley containing 44 of the bank's employees and family members. Several people walked along side the caravan handing out candy, beads and American flags to the crowd. We had patriotic music playing during the march. Everyone who participated wore identical American flag T-Shirts from Old Navy. We decorated with patriotic balloons and two sets of re-useable vinyl banners for the trolley and the convertible saying "Thank You to Our Troops" and "Honoring Our Hero Chester Ellis".

It was gratifying to be able to participate in this national day of remembrance for our fallen heroes. Because we were able to include the families of our employees, we gave many friends and extended family members an opportunity to participate in a parade, and work together in support of this town event.
